AVISON hjälper ROFUB i deras arbete för ”De hemliga barnen”.

Enligt Statens Folkhälsoinstitut lever ca 385 000 barn i en familj där den ena eller båda föräldrarna har en riskabel alkoholkonsumtion. ROFUB, Riksorganisationen för utsatta barn, är ett sätt att börja bygga tillitsfulla relationer med de hemliga barnen.

Genom http://www.pixxi.se får barn som lever med missbrukande föräldrar en möjlighet att online snabbt, och om så önskas anonymt, råd och stöd av professionella vuxna, samt även guidning till myndighetskontakter om så krävs.

Flash Fiction* refers to the creative writing of very short stories; in this case, just 300 words! Do you think you can move, shock and surprise a reader with just a few paragraphs of your creativity? If so, join our Flash Fiction competition today. Here’s what you have to do:

Decide which of the following categories you want to write under:

 - Native speaker

- Non-native speaker 

And in which language; English or Swedish.

Then just let your imagination go wild and write a story of no more than 300 words. We would like the focus to be on creative use of language (for example, using nice metaphors, puns, word play, language-based humour [Swenglish/Svengelska]). Otherwise your story can be about absolutely anything (within the realms of good taste).

 - Then just ”like” the Avison Facebook page (if you haven’t already).

Submitting your entry:

You can either post your story on Avison’s Facebook wall here (please write “Flash Fiction” and your chosen category at the beginning of your post) or email it to us at info@avison.se (with Flash Fiction and your category as the subject).

Submission deadline:

Please send us your stories before 17.00 CET on 5 December 2011.

Creative Mornings organised a short and sweet presentation last Friday by one of the founders of Bloglovin’, Mattias Swenson. Mattias entertained us with a nice presentation full of anecdotes and with an encouraging and powerful message: don´t give up!

According to Mattias, Bloglovin´ was born on a night out when two of its cofounders realized they needed a way of getting free beer! They created a website where they would review beers from different places with the aim of getting them for free when visiting the pubs and bars subject to their “study”. It didn´t work…  And neither did their first delve into the fashion world. But their persistence finally paid off when they realized there was a need they could fulfil: a website where we can check out all our favourite blogs!  It was an immediate success in Sweden, but they wanted more and so they started working with the English language and targeting the whole world!  Today, Bloglovin´ has over a million visitors and 28 million page views per week… not bad!
